Notice of Public Hearing on Proposed Master Recreation Plan.  The Charter Township of Port Huron will hold a public hearing on Wednesday, September 3, 2014 at 7:00 pm at 3800 Lapeer Road to hear comments regarding amendments to the proposed amendments to the Charter Township of Port Huron Master Recreation Plan.  Written correspondences concerning the plan should be addressed to the Park Commission and received at 3800 Lapeer Road, Port Huron, MI 48060 no later than September 3, 2014 at 4:30 pm.  Additionally, persons interested in being heard may also submit oral or written comments at the hearing and may be represented in person or by an agent or attorney.  Persons needing additional aid or assistance should contact the Township by calling 810-987-6600, in advance to request assistance.

Calling all Veterans and their families!
Could your home use minor repairs and cleanup but you are unable to do it yourself?  We Heart the City is the recipient of a Home Depot grant to help veterans.  We provide manpower and finances.  Typical work might include painting, cleaning, yard work, cement work, minor roofing or plumbing and more.  To apply, go to and click on the link.  No computer, no problem.  Applications can also be picked up at 4864 Lapeer Road, Kimball, MI 48074.  Applications will be accepted until September 13, 2014.  Work will be completed on October 11, 2014. 

Port Huron Township Fall Festival 2014 - The Port Huron Township Recreation Board presents Fall Festival 2014 on Saturday, September 20, 2014 from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm at Memorial Park (end of Beach Road).  Come join us for a day of fun that includes inflatables, a petting zoo, a magic show, the fire department, the sheriff's department, a craft table, raffles, a guessing jar, carnival games, prizes, and hay rides. Rain date:  Sunday, September 21, 2014. 

Port Huron Township Fire Department - Benefit Fundraiser for Captain Eric Trexler.
  Eric has been diagnosed with AML, an acute and aggressive form of leukemia.  In an effort to raise money for Eric and his family, the following fundraiser is scheduled:

Dinner and Auction @ Ross Bible Church, 2865 Maywood Drive on September 27, 2014 from 3:00 pm - 7:00 pm.  Come out and show your support for Eric and his family.  Hot dogs, chips, cookies and drinks will be provided.  There will also be raffle baskets and a silent auction.
