Please join us for the annual Port Huron Township Easter Eggstravaganza on Saturday, April 4, 2020 from 11:00 am - 2:00 pm at Central Middle School.  All children invited.  Event includes:  Easter Egg Pickup (come & get your eggs anytime); Inflatables, Raffle Baskets, Guessing Jar; Make and Take Crafts; see the Magician at 12:00 pm; greet the Port Huron Township Fire Department and St. Clair County Sheriff's Department; there will be refreshments and $1 photos with the Easter Bunny (or bring your own camera for free). Presented by the Port Huron Township Recreation Board

Recreation Department



The Port Huron Township Recreation Board is an appointed nine-member board. The 2020 members are: Leslie Arendoski-McMahan, Jean Ritz, Carrie Martin. Peter Shonka, William Livingston, Chandler Martin, Joan Jacobs, Maria Montalvo and Ian Edgerton.  The Board Meetings are held the second Monday of each month at 7.00 p.m. at the Port Huron Township Hall.

The Board currently sponsors four main programs: The Easter Egg Hunt. Summer Recreation Program, Family Fall Festival and the Holiday Decoration Contest.

The Easter Egg Hunt is held the weekend before Easter weekend.We have found through trial and error that it is best to plan an indoor egg hunt. The past two years the Easter Egg Hunt has been held at Central Middle School.  Our attendance has averaged 200-300 children. We have inflatable activities, crafts, pictures with the Easter Bunny, balloon animals, cookies, punch and popcorn. We end things with a scramble for over 4,000 filled eggs.


Join the Summer Recreation Program for a fun-filled program designed to keep your children entertained and occupied while interacting with many of their friends old and new. This program offers many special days with contests, parties, tournaments, field trips and more. This drop-in program is available to children registered in kindergarten through the age of 14. There are two Supervisors and a dozen or more high school aged students working at this program. This program starts at 9:00 a.m. and runs until 2:00 p.m. A typical day would include playing sports games or other outdoor games then breaking for lunch (children bring their own sack lunch daily). After lunch the children may continue outdoor games, play box hockey or participate in making a craft.


This event is a family-oriented afternoon of fall fun in one of Port Huron Townships parks. In the past we have drawn crowds of 300—400 people. We offer hayrides, carnival type games for children, a magic show, fire truck tours, inflatable activities, hotdogs, chips, popcorn, raffles. It’s a wonderful way to spend an afternoon with your family and a nice way to meet your neighbors within Port Huron Township.


All Port Huron Township residents are welcome to participate in our annual holiday light display contest.  Anyone may nominate themselves or their neighbors.
